Allobates femoralis Boulenger 1883

CALL
Distribution:
Lowlands throughout Peru and most of the Amazonian basin, in some areas making it up to roughly 700 m elevation. View type locality in Google Maps.
Ecology:
This species can be found breeding in low lying areas forming forest pools. Adults are commonly seen calling among the leaf litter.
Phylogenetic status:
Sister species to A. zaparo. Allobates sensu Grant 2006 is expanded to include a suite of species previously considered part of Colostethus.
Conservation status:
With a large range, high population densities, and low smuggling pressure, this species is of low conservation concern.
