2008 Calendar now
available!
We would like to thank everyone that purchased calendars, prints, or donated
money to us last year. Our 2007 field season was one of the best. The money we
received through donations and sales helped us get to places we would not have
been able to get to otherwise. Here is what we spent the money on:
1. Flight for two to an isolated town near Pucallpa. This was an important
expedition and allowed us to do follow-up research on two undescribed species
from this area. Thanks to donations we were able to get there this year and
should now be able to publish the descriptions of these species sometime in
Spring 2008.
2. Expedition to the Cordillera El Sira. Donations played a major part in the
funding of this trip. It was a successful trip in which we found several
species of dendribatids, including new morphs of Ranitomeya lamasi, and documented an
undescribed species of Ameerega.
3. Travel to Iquitos. Along with Ron Gagliardo we documented one of the
last remaining Atelopus populations near this city.
We are trying to raise money to fund expeditions for 2008. Calendar and print
sales will help us come a long way in raising money. 100% of profits from sales
go towards field work, and hopefully 2008 will be another year full of
surprises.
